Research Interests

My primary research interest is in lithic technologies. I am especially concerned with the spatial distribution of lithic materials and how trade and social relationships played a part in lithic material procurement. I have also focused on understanding past environments, particularly through the study of ethnobotony and geoarchaeology. I am interested specifically in how past environmental reconstruction can be applied to understanding how people made decisions concerning the environment in which they lived. I have work experience in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.
